I'm back in sg! :D Home sweet home! Nth beats the comfort of my bed ^-^

I'm down with gastric flu on e last day in Hanoi. Fortunately, it was e last day. Struggled at the airport and on flight to finally reach home and collapsed on bed for 11 hours.

Wakey nw but needs plenty of rest and water. No milk, no spicy and oily food. Bah x 3...

Overall, i'm satisfied with the trip apart from the flu :)

I realized westerners are really adventurous. They can travel from country to country constantly without returning homeland. And they can spend months on their trip and sometimes rest at a foreign country to find a job. Recuperate sufficient cash and start traveling once again. I'm impress cause i can't do that. I'll miss my love ones.

Here are some of the things i'd notice in Hanoi, Vietnam:

Vietnamese girls are pretty
Males are less assertive than females
They love vegetables (be it raw or cooked)
They consume beef (my favorite, suits me) and chicken most of the time (i didn't see duck dishes in my trip)
They are generally friendly people
Standard of living is low. Food and necessities are cheap.

Nevertheless, it was an enriching trip for me. When i can get to know myself better. To learn how to trust, rely and take care of myself in a foreign country. Make new friends and see a new perspective.

Can't wait to embark on my new chapter in life! :D

Pen down my thoughts in the cabin on paradise luxury at 10:23pm on 7th Feb 2012 hanoi time and enjoying the can of Bia Ha Noi (Vietnamese beer) i smuggled on board the cruise from hanoi city.

Got to know a grp of Eurasians and was asked to join them for dinner. I wasn't alone =) Met a helpful tour guide on board as well. She was born in the same year and mth as me! :) I'm glad i had a nice company. I feel fortunate to meet quite a few frenly folks in Vietnam so far.

My trip has been enjoyable! Travelling alone isn't that scary after all :) However, one should go on short trips for a start to determine if you'd like travelling alone or with a bunch of frens. I wouldn't mind going on a solo trip for a few days to a safe and nearby country once again =D

I will be docking at 10:30am tml ^-^ Wish me a pleasant journey back to Hanoi city! Will attend the cooking class at blue butterfly rstnt and mud wrap appt at la siesta in the late aftn all the way till the evening =) not sure what to have for dinner though.

I'm starting to miss sg, my family and close frens. No seasick but i do feel homesick. Cya folks on 9th Feb 2012! =D 'there's no place like home..' This phrase is getting to me soon.

My therapist is young and beautiful :) i like! ^-^

Treat myself with the Hanoi Old Town Package for 1 hr 40' at 55 usd. Uber shiok! :)

It consists of an Imperial Jade Therapy in which you'll hv a body massage plus the hot stone therapy, a relaxing facial treatment along with some refreshing tea and light bite to eat after the treatment.

Wee with glee!! :D I'm back in my hotel room and awaiting to hv dinner with Lan at 730pm while i take the time to blog ^-^

I'm hungry... *rub my tummy* Lol.

Day 2

Went to Temple of Literature in the morning. Hmm nth much. Walked the streets thereafter and bought a checked shirt for myself at 250,000 dong (ard 11 usd) hehe yippee! There are alot of nice male shoes here though :) However, female shoes in sg or korea are better i feel.

One thing i realize, Vietnam gals are quite pretty :) And their guys are not as tan as Thais but not as soft-looking as Koreans.

I had Pho Ban (Chicken noodle) for lunchie tdy. I still prefer Pho Bo (Beef noodle).

Receptionist told me i can skip going to Chula fashion showroom cos it is quite far. She suggested i stay here to shop instead :D Hehe i shall listen to her advise and strike off that item from my itinerary.

Should be switching my spa with the cooking class on 8th Feb due to timing issues. Will update the later half of the events once again!

I met a new gal named Lan while having Pho Bo n Pineapple juice at a rstnt in Cau Go. And she asked me out for dinner tml ard 730 to 8pm.

Hehe she asked if i drink. Lol. Hmm... And said there's a place selling beer for 5000 dong which is roughly 0.25 cents sing dollars. O_O!!!

Walked ard the Hoan Kiem Lake and visit St. Joseph cathedral jus nw.. My legs are aching and i'm thirsty, which is why i'm back in e room to blog and rejuvenate nw! ^-^

Should be going for the Night Market at Dong Xuan later on from 7 to 11pm.

Before departure from sg...

Inspired by Swee Wei, i'm doing this solo trip today.

26 going on 27, this is my first time travelling alone. I'm slightly excited, nervous and somewhat worried. I've no idea what to expect, uncertain if i will enjoy the trip and not sure if i'll be happy and be able to find myself before my return.

But i know i'm going on this trip for myself. My close ones want me to move on. I've been mourning for awhile and i'm tired of living my life like a zombie every recent days.

I hope to be happy once again. To be as cheery as i used to be but wiser.

Wish me lots of luck! Hope Daddy looks out for me too!

10 self-motivating tips on how to stay happy living the single life

#1 Relax.
Your singledom will not last a lifetime. Well it will if it is meant to but this is a very rare karma. The worst thing you can do is panic and think you have to find someone immediately or your life is over. This air of desperation is by far the most debilitating energy to bring into a new relationship with yourself or with anyone new for that matter. It makes you blind to obvious red flags and puts you in all kinds of compromising situations. So once again - take a breath, be happy to have been given this special opportunity to get to know yourself. Sometimes the only way to get you to listen to yourself is to force this "time alone" upon you.

#2 Stay clean.
Forget about being stoned or disconnected - not a good recipe for a successful relationship with yourself or anyone else for that matter. Beat your addictions once and for all if you have them. If you can't do it for yourself - you won't do it for anyone else.

#3 Give yourself a chance.
Being happy alone does not happen overnight especially if you are a recovering codependent. There will be times that you feel you are invisible, no one will ever love you, you are wasting your life, your life is passing you by and a whole lot of other negative self talk. Take yourself for a walk or even better on a date. Learn how to cheer yourself up. The better you get at being alone, the better you will be at being in relationship. For some it is extremely difficult to cater to your own needs. Are you one of these people that will happily cook if someone is over but if it is just you - bread and butter will suffice? Make the effort to cook for yourself - seriously. This is one of the most self loving things you can do for yourself. Cook yourself something new each week, each day even. You deserve it!

#4 Study something new.
Its a perfect time in your life to go to night school or completely change career tracks. Figure out what you are passionate about and go for it. There is no one to hold you back but yourself.

#5 Meet new people.
Not necessarily for romantic reasons just to expand your support community. Friendships are paramount, where would we be without our friends.

#6 Exercise.
A great way to get to know yourself again - start with reconnecting with your body. Its the only one you have this lifetime. Singledom is the perfect time to get yourself in shape and the endorphins released when you work out keeping your spirits flying high. Why not pick up an old team sport you used to play in high school - great way to socialize and stay in shape.

#7 Rediscover your creativity.
It's in there! We all have the ability to create magnificence. You may have temporarily forgotten what you came here to create but if you spend enough time alone you will rediscover your creative self. What a perfect opportunity to play when no one is watching! So get out those pencils, paints, clay, inventions, designs and let loose.

#8 Focus your attention on your thoughts.
In case you have missed the last ten years of evolution it is now widely accepted that yes your thoughts do create your reality. Take this time alone to become extraordinarily of your thoughts.

#9 Be grateful for what you already have.
Finding happiness in contentment in what already exists in your life.

#10 Step out of your comfort zone.
Each week plan to go somewhere new, or do something different. Don't wait till Mr or Mrs Right is in your life to follow your dreams. Do it now! You have more chance of meeting your special someone if you are living your life to the fullest. Even if you don't want to meet anyone you still will have a blast following your hearts desires.

Jus finished with The Ugly Truth (2009) starring Katherine Heigl from 27 Dresses and Gerard Butler from P.S. I Love You.

Its 5:12 pm now. Time passes really slowly when i'm constantly in view of its movement. Its a hot, restless, lazy aftn and i'm left with no more movies to watch. I'm done with checking on emails and fb too.

No motivation to workout either. Heard that one of the runners of Run Round Singapore ntu event is finishing the race soon. The last station is suppose to be at 8:00 pm and if all the runners were to reach b4 that timing then there will be no one for us to cheer on in the last lap? Lol i hv no idea how it works.

Anyway gotta sign off and help prepare dinner le. Tdy's attempt will be Potato & Leek soup and Asparagus wrapped in Bacon. Wish me luck and Hope the dishes turns out good!

How to train your Dragon (2010)

Another nice animated film since Up the movie. =)
The story is simple but vy much enjoyable!
I would rate a 3.8 out of 5 and definitely encourage adults to bring their kids to view this movie.

Emotions and expressions are well-handled for the Night Fury dragon (named Toothless). It is really adorable! =D Nice work for DreamWorks!

Wat r u waiting for!? Do support and catch the movie now! ^-^ Cos animations require alot of hard work to produce!

Publicity isnt good so all should ignore the trailers, posters and title.

Simply buy the tickets, bring along your childlike soul and watch! =)

Work isn't everything in life. And believe me, no one is indispensable in this world. We come and go in a continuous cycle with different people in different times.

Sleep is important for good health and to live.

Travelling can be enjoyable and a great time to reflect upon thoughts if there isn't any busy crowd in the morning or evening which is rarely the case i guess in sg.

No matter wat, i wish that all of us can enjoy our precious time with the ones we cherish most!

My resolution every year is to Live life to the Fullest and Without Regrets! This mindset is of utmost importance! (to me at least! ^-^)

Its been awhile everyone. Miss blogging, miss the good old days back at school where time was flexible and the freedom was there.

Found this 10-steps article on "How to Stop Having An Inappropriate Crush" at http://www.wikihow.com/Stop-Having-An-Inappropriate-Crush while googling aimlessly. Felt it would be good to share.

In my opinion,

Step 1: Examine why the crush is a bad idea. (People who will come to the wiki page obviously knows that hving a crush is inappropriate and they must have screened thru this step)

Step 2: Project the potential fallout. (This is helpful in aiding you to think through the consequences if you were to be with the crush, but it doesn't stop u from falling for your crush)

Step 3: Consider your reputation. (This step is only applicable for certain people. It is not applicable to those who pursue love despite anything else!)

Step 4: Think about your future. (Slightly different but similar to step 2)

Step 5: Distract yourself. (Useful but only for a certain period of time)

I'd finished my 5km run today for the Race Against Cancer 2009 event with Bb! =) Bro and co and my colleagues registered for the event as well. And although they were running for the 10km route, their presence and enthusiasm really made today's run an enjoyable one! =D

Its my first attempt to accomplish such distance and although i'd stopped on and off after 3km, i'm really proud of myself to hv completed the run with my dear!

I will jiayou and train harder for future runs de! Our nxt running route will most probably be at the Jurong Lakepark! Anybody will like to join us? ^-^

"Up" is a great animated movie that is sure to touch your hearts. Each character is created with detailed emotions which made me cried and laughed along with them.

Do support this production as i believe animated movies are much more difficult to make as compared to real human movies when emotions are harder to grasp. Pixar did an excellent job no doubt!

I shall give the movie a rating of 4.8 / 5.0, leaving some leeway for improvements if there are any. Though i feel that it was a perfect movie for me.

Dad bought me a life insurance when i was young.

Mum suddenly mentioned abt it today.

Guess wat she said..

“妹啊，爸买给你的保险不知保什么的。不然就把它 terminate 掉。”

Anyone will know wat happens if one terminates a pre-mature insurance policy. And i am DEFINITELY POSITIVELY sure she knows.

I was really pissed when she said that. And i duno how she got to conclude to saying that sentence. Really.. Totally speechless.

It is not that i wish to quarrel with her at times and of cos dad don't wish for me to have conflicts with her as well. But the things she says and her actions make me realized how difficult it is to communicate with her. Dad once said she would get more and more unreasonable as she grow old with age. This really makes me worry...

What should i do in time to come? =(

So vivi and i decided to show some support for the Wanton mee stall.. Alamak~! Not nice la.. no wonder no queue. Paid the Wanton uncle and he actually ask me to queue up to get back my change.. Oh my god. -_-"

Waited for vivi to finish her interview session while i went to get her favourite Subway with Sweet Onion sauce, BBQ Chicken @ AMK Hub. Yup we had a little picnic at some remote HDB playground..

28th April:
Went for some famous Duck Rice near Pasir Pajang, immediately after lunch we went for Chwee Kuay and Carrot Cake at Ghim Moh!

29th April:
Drove down to Ikea to take a walk. =)
Had their Kids Meal Swedish Meat Balls, Ikea Hot Dog and Ice Cream, Famous Laksa and Curry Chicken from Queensway Shopping Center and finally 1 cup corn to satisfy vivi's craving.

Singapore Sakura?

Find this picture of the tree familiar? The flowers of the trees come in 2 colours. One pink and the other white. One of the many trees in singapore that actually blossoms with many beautiful flowers during early months of the year. I've never seen Sakura before but these trees really create much serenity and are vy much pleasing to the eye. Well, at least to mine.

I'm off braces today onwards! YupPy! I no longer need to worry abt major food stuck, No more inter-dental brush, no more teeth tightening visits! Haha so happy it feels vy much like graduation. Hope all my love ones, my friends can feel my joy too! ^-^

But the end of teeth arrangement procedure also marks the start of teeth maintenance! I hope that those teeth remain well-aligned till i'm old and until the day in which they could no longer hold. =) So i'm on fixed retainer currently.

I was told by my dentist that the fixed retainer was more ideal as compared to the removable one as it ensures that my teeth gets hold in position better. Furthermore, the fixed one is glued to the back of my teeth and hence it doesn't require me to take off the retainer every 3 times a day during meal times and when i'm brushing my teeth. So basically i feel that the fixed should be easier to maintain and it avoids incidents in which i need to be excused to the toilet to take out the salivary removable retainer. =)

And now that i'm wearing the fixed retainer. It feels a little odd in the beginning but i guess the joy of braces removal and the feeling of your smooth outer teeth and gum surfaces once again beats everything else that could hinder you in the mouth! =D

爸成经说过这是妈的其中一个缺点。如果可以的话、多多包容妈。这么说她都是辛辛苦苦把我身下来的。

我同意爸的说法，但我好想问爸：“她竟然忍痛把我生下，又何必偏袒男与女呢?”

她的思想、我实在是无从理解。

I feel thirsty everytime after taking a shower. So i got really curious and this is what i've found out from Yahoo answers.

Ans: its rather common to be moderately thirsty as the heat can dehydrate you the way it does while enjoying a hot tub/spa/bath.

Water is not absorb through your skin but sweat can escape.

And this is why some ppl may feel thirsty after a shower. Do you feel thirsty after a shower too?

Went for the Gala Premiere of Quantum of Solace at the Cathay jus nw. It is a nice movie, probably better than Casino Royale. Guess in this movie, i slowly begin to accept Daniel Craig as the face of James Bond. The movie was sure to cost huge to wreck an aston martin, a boat, a motorbike and a plane. Basically any vehicle they can get from the land, sea and sky. Nevertheless do expect lots of action from the movie, but less of sensual scenes and Bond chics this time round.

Came across a statement made by Madam Florence Heng, and she mentioned that 'Dying from breast cancer is better than dying in a car accident. It gives you time to prepare for death and cherish every living moment.'

What she had mentioned is true however cancer and some other illnesses could lead to a slow and painful death. The final months and weeks can be very difficult and hurtful for the patients and their love ones. Therefore does allowing more time to prepare for death always a better choice? Or mayb we should plan for our funeral when we're living and healthy?
